Providence Journal Coverage of David's Campaign in District 34

This week, the Providence Journal had an excellent article detailing the nearly 300 candidates running for R.I General Assembly. Included in the story is a quote from State Representative David Caprio regarding his coordinated and extensive campaign for re-election in District 34.

“The unions made it very clear … that a vote to reform the pension system, a vote to cap the COLAs, would be viewed as a reason for them [to] actively support people who would run against legislators who voted that way,”

“My responsibility is to the taxpayers of my district, and the overall financial health of the state.”

Highlighting David's unwavering focus on the issues throughout the campaign, the Journal article frames the District 34 as one of the most followed races state-wide.

Following up on the article, Representative Caprio also added: "I have been fortunate enough to receive many union endorsements during my time as representative, and I understand the difficult challenges teachers, nurses and other professionals face every day. However, given the state's financial struggles, my focus is to provide a balanced approach to help the cities and towns be able to provide property tax relief."

As interest rises around the September 14th primary, so too does Representative Caprio's confidence in his quickly expanding campaign - "I can't say enough about the incredible outpouring of support I have received from my friends and neighbors. From the words of support I hear walking door-to-door, to the dozens of volunteers who turned out to our campaign headquarters to offer their time, I have seen our community come together like never before."
